Yes, Jada’s due date is November 13, next Friday. She currently weighs 6 lbs 14 oz. She is on 4 bottles (55 ml with NeoSure) and 2 times a day nursing. About 30 ml = 1 oz. Jada is completing about 3/4 of her bottles and taking the leftovers through her NG tube. She is doing a great job nursing! She is having some periodic breathing and may have to go back on her aminophylline if she continues or starts to have apnea. It is not uncommon for micropreemies to have periodic breathing until they are 42 weeks gestation. Dr. McCormick said IF she goes back on the medicine she could end up going home on it as well (with possibly a monitor), BUT we are still a few weeks away due to her feeding.
I did my last-minute shopping for Jada and the nursery this morning. We tested out the monitor this evening, and switched out her newborn diapers for size 1!

Honey, we just want to get there and hug our grandaughter! She is the most adorable lil thing in the world! Thank you to you and our son for giving us this prize!!! Nana and Grandpa
Well, Casey is definitely a fan of the Longhorn gear – is that a burnt orange pacifier?!
We rejoice with you that Jada’s homecoming is so close!
I’m ready to switch out the yellow ribbon for a pink one!!
YEAH! I am so excited for you guys! You’re almost home Jada.
Hi Allie, Dave & Jada,
It seems like a lifetime ago that you discovered you were expecting for the first time. November seemed like it would never come. The journey is much different than anticipated, but the lessons learned, the abundance of blessings and the connections made with family and friends are recorded on this blog and in your hearts forever. Looking back is amazing, but thinking about Jada’s future is even more fantastic! The beauty and anticipation of her homecoming to such a lovely nursery and two very eager parents is a day we can’t wait to celebrate.
Jada looks so beautiful with her full cheeks, gorgeous eyes and endearing smile. LOVE the midnight photo on her tummy and grinning. How precious those angelic dreams that infants have while knowingly still so innocent and close to God.
We are all elated to continue sharing in your lives through the blog and fully understanding the need to keep Jada safe and sound at home and as germ free as possible.
David and I (my David) recall fondly the first few weeks of being new parents and the euphoria that comes from having all your hopes and dreams come true (and ofcourse the delusions from lack of sleep). We are happy that your family will get “extra” time in your own home as new parents. It will be the only time that you will be cocooned and unlike most parents, you will understand and relish the preciousness of God’s gift.
As much as you want (and we want) to rush into your home and touch/hold your miracle child, we also realize that the time you will have in your medically ordered protective bubble is actually a gift.
Have a glorious week and looking forward to the newest photos.
Love,
Jennifer
